"Katerina's Art" is a shop located in the
region of Halandri in Athens, where you can find a completely unique

by Katerina Vlahou. The shop is ideal for those seeking a gift for
a friend or loved one, and you will find a truly wonderful selection
of items here.
Since childhood, Katerina has been both interested and inspired
by various forms of art, and has through the years, acquired a talent
and knowledge for creating a selection of pieces of work that visitors
can find at her shop. Below is Katerina's story in her own words.
"Since I was a child I thought a lot about art, even though
at that point of my life, I didnt know much and even wondered
what exactly art was. |
As a child I began writing poems and I taking notes
of various thoughts or events that I thought they were interesting.
During my early years of youth I travelled a lot around the world,
storing in my mind pictures and images that were at times, not always
happy.
In 1992 after my beloved brothers death, I started to paint
systematically, using oil paints, as well as paints that were specialized
for both icons and frescoes, and charcoal.
During that time I was taught the manufacturing process of puppets
and masks. At the same time I learnt weaving, where I began to create
images on the materials, using at the same time, natural dyes with
great success.

The jewelry field began to occupy my mind in 2000 where I
started looking for new ways to express my artistic way of thinking.
The basic materials I use for my jewelry are idiomorphic crystals,
bonded with semi precious stones and combined with argent metal
or silver.
My collection includes rings, broaches in different sizes and
shapes, necklaces and pendants, earrings single or in a set, all
of which were created with artistic finesse.

Also included in my collection are some lamps and light holders, made by
metal and glass which can perfectly decorate your home or your
working place, adding a unique art effect in your environment.
I have also created a range of small decorative objects, and works
of art made which I felt inspiration to create. I had three personal
art exhibitions over the previous years, the last of which took
place in Hydra during the summer of 2003, at the Melina Merkouri
hall."
